Which devices are supported?

Do I need to install an agent on every device?

No — the agent is optional. You can add devices manually or import them from a spreadsheet. The agent (Windows and Apple) simply automates the boring part: it reads serial number, model, OS and battery health so records stay current without manual effort.

How does automatic warranty checking work?

Give TomIT your laptop serial numbers and it looks up live warranty status for HP and Lenovo automatically, then writes the coverage period and expiry date back to each asset. Expired and expiring warranties are flagged on the dashboard, and you can define your own warranty rules per brand so every device gets a coverage date even without a lookup.

Brand, model, serial number, purchase date, warranty expiry, status, assigned user, department, location, specs and hostname — plus type-specific fields like IMEI, storage and OS version for phones and tablets. Every change is saved in the asset history with the old and new values, so you always know what happened and who did it.

Yes. Licenses track capacity — seats used versus seats total — with visual indicators when you are close to or over your allocation, and licenses can be linked to the contracts that pay for them.

How does the lifecycle work — returns, retirement, maintenance?

Assets move through clear statuses: in stock, assigned, in maintenance, needs return and retired. A dedicated "Needs Return" view lists everything that should be collected, retired assets are archived so they stay auditable, and battery health is monitored so failing batteries get attention before they become a problem.

The costs dashboard aggregates your recurring spend per vendor and per contract, so you can spot the expensive renewals and the discounts about to expire — and export the numbers to CSV whenever you need them.

Every workspace is strictly isolated from every other at the database level — there is no way for one workspace to see another's data. Access is role-based, sessions are protected, and your backups are encrypted at rest.
